Here at Edible Queens, our mission is to celebrate the food cultures of our communities. Our passion is to explore the tavernas of Astoria, the food stalls of Flushing, and the pubs of Woodside. To savor the traditional flavors of Thailand, Korea, Cyprus, Colombia, Ecuador, and more. To relive a foreign adventure right in our own backyard. To travel the world, for the price of a roundtrip metrocard.
This blog is truly unique. It’s a community blog, and anyone can participate. You don’t even have to live in Queens, but you do have to love our fair borough, and you do have to write about it. (There are enough magazines covering the Brooklyn and Manhattan food scenes, dontcha think?) If you’ve got a great borough food story to share, you are welcome to submit it at any time by submitting a sample post to us at edit@ediblequeens.com with the subject line “Blog Beat.” Please include your full name and location. Check your spelling, doublecheck your facts (wikipedia and Yelp are not good enough) and provide a decent photo* or two. (We love to drool over your photos!) If we think it’s something our readers would love to read about, we will add you as a contributor and you can post whenever you like. Questions? Email us!
*A word of caution: you cannot take a “decent photo” with a cellphone. Or an iPhone. Please only submit photos taken with cameras. Sorry.

So random… the photo displayed in the header on the far left of the screen. What is it and what story is it linked to (if any)?!? It looks like a certain treat I’ve been trying to track down in NYC for some time.
Yes, agreed on the question about the photo in the header… I find myself asking for the info, backstory, recipe, etc, about each of the photos.
*Wonderful Blog!
My husband and I lived in Queens (Fresh Meadows/Flushing area) for 2 1/2 years and loved the diversity of the food and culture. Thank you for creating an excellent blog that brings back wonderful memories and makes me want to go back and EAT!
